Our vacation home is located in the town of Huntsville which is in the Upper Ogden Valley near the shores of Pineview Reservoir.  Whether you are staying in Winter, spring, summer or fall, recreational opportunities are abundant.

Snowbasin, A Sun Valley Resort

Huntsville is the closest town to Snowbasin and our home is located in downtown Huntsville.  It is one of the closest rental homes to Snowbasin, A Sun Valley Resort and you can be on the slopes in just 15 minutes.  Snowbasin offers world class skiing and was the home of the 2002 Olympic Downhill and Super G events.

Snowbasin consistently is ranked #1 for Lifts and ranks highly for On-Mountain Food and Service.  Snowbasin boasts 2,959 vertical feet of ski trails with 104 runs; 7 percent novice terrain, 29 percent intermediate, 34 percent expert and 30 percent expert only.  Snowbasin has 12 lifts including 2 high-speed gondolas; a super pipe, three terrain parks and tubing hills.  With the snowsports learning center, day care facility and equipment rental, guests at Snowbasin receive world class service.

Powder Mountain

Powder Mountain Ski Resort (Pow Mow to the locals) is just a 25 minute drive from our home.  Powder Mountain regularly ranks high for snow and value. Pow Mow has 5,500 acres and 113 runs. One of Powder Mountain's greatest assets, the Lightning Ridge Snowcat, will tow you to the top of Lightning Ridge with very little effort.  Once on top you will access over 700 challenging acres of pristine powder snow with an impressive 2100' vertical drop.  Pow Mow offers 2 terrain parks, snowsports school and both day and night skiing.  Powder Mountain (801) 745-3772

Wolf Mountain Ski Resort

Wolf Creek Utah (formerly Nordic Valley) is a family-friendly resort offering what many people consider to be the best learn-to-ski & ride mountain in the Rockies.

The Wolfdeedo Double Chair was designed specifically with beginners in mind and it provides access to one of the best beginner slopes in Utah. The Howling Wolf Double Chair provides access to the top of the mountain and a nice gentle two-mile trial for beginner to intermediate skiers and riders. Hardware Ranch/Monte Cristo/Logan Canyon Snowmobile Complexes

Hardware Ranch, Monte Cristo and Logan Canyon snowmobile complex are grouped together and are some of northern Utah's unique recreation treasures. More than 180 miles of well-groomed snowmobile trails wind through the Wasatch-Cache National Forest, providing snowmobiling opportunities that are consistently included in lists of the West's top riding areas.

Huntsville Outdoor Ice Rink

Each winter, volunteers from the town of Huntsville create and maintain one of the nicest outdoor rinks in the Western US.  Many local, rising Hockey stars get their start after school and on weekends on the rink.  The town has rental skates available and the skates are distributed at the Huntsville Barbecue Company. Historic Ogden

The city of Ogden has several fine attractions. Union Station on 25th Street is a wonderful stop for Ogden visitors. The original structure of the Union Station Depot burned in 1923. Today, however, the rebuilt Union Station houses several fine museums. While there, visitors should remember the rough history of the area and enjoy what Ogden has become. Another attraction is the Peery's Egyptian Theater on 2415 Washington Blvd. This structure was built in the 1920s and has become an excellent location for theater lovers to visit. Ogden City

Wolf Creek Resort Golf Course

Club Rec

Club Rec provides all your recreational needs in the Ogden Valley.  Offering boat, personal watercraft, ATV and snowmobile rentals.  With full day and half day rates available as well as custom membership points packages.  As a guest at Lakeside you will receive a discount off the half day and full day rates. Club rec is open 7 days a week and is located in Eden.

Skywalker Balloon Company

Offering hot air balloon rides in the Ogden Valley for 2-6 people.  A balloon ride in the Ogden Valley promises bird's eye views of the Great Salt Lake, the Ogden Valley, Wasatch Range, Wasatch-Cache National Forest and many other scenic places from a totally different angle.  Each balloon ride ends with a champagne celebration.  Guests of Lakeside receive a special discount.

Pineview Reservoir

Huntsville is located on the shores of Pineview Reservoir, one of Northern Utah's most popular boating destinations. Numerous facilities around the 28 miles of shoreline offer many types of water-based recreation. Fishing occurs nearly everywhere at the reservoir, types of fish in Pineview are warm water species including the planted Tiger Muskie which are reaching record sizes. Kayaking

Ogden Area whitewater can be found on the Ogden River from Pineview Reservoir to Washington Blvd. with class 2-5 rapids, all levels of boaters will enjoy the water.  The Weber River between Mt. Green and Highway 89 also offers some extreme whitewater with the best flows from April to June.  Kayak Park, located near 24th street and the Ogden River is a premier hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing and kayaking experience.  Situated in an urban setting on the lower portion of the Weber River, the park provides local citizens and tourists with world class boating opportunities and also affords a point of access for fishing and trail use as well.  Kayak Rodeo Park

Red Cliff Ranch

Red Cliff Ranch is nestled snugly in the scenic and picturesque Wasatch Mountains. It is where it has sat for the past 155 years as one of northern Utah's oldest cattle ranches. Besides being drenched in history and the sweat of many a cowboy, the ranch is also known for its vast variety of wildlife and delicious cowboy cooking in its country cafe.
